1. Avoid puddles at all costs... unless you want your feet bathed.
2. Leaking engine oil is encouraged as it prolongs the life of your front subframe.
3. when mechanicle/ elecrticle faults let you down remember the three most inportant rules of mini ownership, adapt, improvise and overcome.

Always power hard round corners, this s a must as it forms part of the minis propulsion system and failure to do so could result in seemingly endless acceleration and throttle pedal angst.

avoid scuttle and inner a panel rust at all cost, fit a roof rack for luggage, no need for a full box of tools (too much weight)
, just a 10,11, 13 and 14mm spanners, 2 screwdrivers, a hammer, WD40 and duck tape, oil n water 
if it cant be fixed with them then aa card lol
